All day event! All ages are welcome and the event is free and open to the public. There will be a large covered beer tent with seating (all ages) along with a smaller outdoor beer garden for 21+!

Oktoberfest activities are FREE to attend, but a ticket purchase is required for alcohol. All alcohol will be dispensed only into Village of North Aurora Oktoberfest steins.

This fall, treat yourself to a curated selection of hard cider and seasonal beer from more than 30 local breweries and cideries at the Cider and Ale Festival. Take in the crisp autumn air as you sip and stroll through The Morton Arboretum’s stunning tree-filled landscapes.

The Cider and Ale Festival takes place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from noon to 3:00 p.m.

Tasting tables will offer more than 60 varieties of cider and beer along Meadow Lake Trail, the Conifer Walk, and the Frost Hill walking path.

Please note: Due to capacity restrictions, there will be no general admission to the Arboretum on Saturday, October 3. Arboretum members who are not attending the Cider and Ale Festival can enter the grounds from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. and are welcome to stay until closing at sunset.

Event Tickets

Cider and Ale Festival event tickets include 20 3-ounce samples, a 3-ounce tasting glass, and admission into the Arboretum on Saturday, October 3.

VIP Tickets

With the purchase of VIP tickets, attendees receive everything included in regular event tickets, plus early entrance to the festival at 11:00 a.m., a 9-oz welcome pour, and a commemorative pint-size beer glass.

Designated Driver Tickets

Designated Driver tickets include admission to the Arboretum on Saturday, October 3, access to nonalcoholic samples along the tasting route, and one nonalcoholic beverage (tea, soda, coffee, or water).

Labor Day Weekend, September 4 - 6, Downtown Highwood

Musicians from around the country descend upon Highwood once again as Celebrate Highwood transforms Downtown Highwood into Nashville’s Honky Tonk Row for the ninth Annual Nashwood (Nashville+Highwood) Music and Food Fest. Attendees of all ages are encouraged to don their cowboy boots and hats over Labor Day Weekend, September 4 - 6, for three days of FREE live country, bluegrass, blues, classic, contemporary, and Southern rock music, as well as Southern-inspired food and drink specials.

The sounds of Nashville will permeate the air as music lovers stroll the streets of Downtown Highwood, enjoying FREE performances throughout many venues with live music indoors and outdoors, all within one weekend. There are no cover charges, but in true Nashville style, tips are always welcome to support the musicians! Nashwood will run Friday: 5 PM-bar close, Saturday: 2 PM-bar close, Sunday: 2-8 PM.

This year they are focusing fundraising efforts on exterior improvements. They want to create incredible curb appeal as you drive up to our VFW post and will be raising money to paint the entire exterior in one uniform color. The brick will remain the same and every other surface will be painted one complimentary color. They will also update the paint on all the handrails and staircases. Beautifying the VFW helps with the rentals of Kendall Hall and ultimately that money goes to help all of our Veterans.
